Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) Summer Program

ASDa will be collaborating with the Data Science Institute (DSI) in the Faculty of Science at UBC to train and mentor both undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds including data science, urban research and planning and design thinking to work on focused, team projects that aim to benefit society.

In this 15-week program (May 15 - August 25, 2017), sixteen selected UBC DSSG Fellows (eight undergraduate and eight graduate students) will be divided into four teams with each team working on a different research project coming from public government and non-profit organizations. These projects will involve analyzing multiple data sets and have an applied social good component for urban-related topics.
